By George Dodson

There are many people today who quit their jobs for various reasons. Many people would agree that this would be the best choice if you feel that the job is no longer rewarding.

You start to question - is this really what I want? Can't I have another job? Do this exhausting job everyday and only have time for yourself on weekends?

You begin to feel that you're wasting your future over the wrong career choice.

However, these should not be the case. There are those which made a decision to quit their job and focused on running their own business or pursued a more meaningful employment or job.

Before actually submitting your letter of resignation to your boss, you should first think of your decision carefully.

First, you will need to validate the reason for your resignation and make sure it is not only because your colleagues are talking back at you or backstabbing you. If you've been enduring some stress and pain over your job then submitting a resignation would probably a good choice.

Then, you would need a good understanding of what is happening. Think about the things and factors that influence you on opting to leave your job. Is it because you prefer to do things your own way and don't want others to interfere? Would it be because you yearn for more respect than what you are getting? Or is it because you're doing something that you really don't want to do.

Because you're leaving your job you're not enjoying doesn't mean you'll get a better job. Know if your path will lead you to a better situation or state. Understand that having to leave behind a job which you no longer have interest in will not lead you to something better - it only helps you rid of your current state. Ask yourself if you need more leisure time. Would you prefer a job that gives you more responsibility? Or perhaps little or no responsibility? Would you like to work using your creativity? A complex reason? Be specific with what you want and what you would like to do in your life.

You should also have plan prior to leaving the job which you currently have. Action is quite important indeed however it is essential that think of this plan. If you've come across a solid decision on where you'd rather be than in your job, be sure to plan a route which you can follow. It is essential that you finish this plan before leaving your job. Before leaving your job, look up new job openings which you want, find spaces for your business, write blogs, etc.

Through your plan you will have a specific goal to achieve after quitting your current job. You will have a peace of mind once you know that you have a plan to follow after you leave your job. The plan will even boost your confidence and will help you look forward to better opportunities. As soon as you have a good plan you can execute after resigning along with the back up finances then you can confidently hand your resignation to your boss.
